Essential COVID-19 training for all key workers

Share

Tuesday, 14 April 2020

As the concerns of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) escalate, it’s more important than ever before to support the people working across all key sectors, helping to manage the ever-changing needs of the public.

All key workers across the public sector workforce are facing some of the most challenging times this country has ever seen. It’s vitally important that everyone knows how to play their part to protect the vulnerable and save lives, as well as look after their own health and safety.

Partners Skills for Justice and Me Learning have been working together since 2018 providing online learning for police, local government, health and care. Skills for Justice, the Sector Skills Council for Justice are experts in workforce development skills development for the Justice sector, and with their sister organisation Skills for Health have developed a free online learning resource focused on COVID-19.

Recognising the need for everyone working in key public sector roles, the course is tailored to those that need guidance on recognising the symptoms of Coronavirus so they can act quickly to support those in need.

Over 7500 public sector workers have already accessed the course, which is updated regularly to provide the best possible training and advice to key workers. It’s crucial that all key workers across the public sector have access to the tools they need to develop the skills required for the situations they face.

John Rogers, CEO, Skills for Justice said:

“All organisations in the public sector will be facing huge challenges over the coming months. We see our primary role as supporting not just our front-line services, but those organisations and individuals that are critical to keep the public safe, and daily life operating as normally as possible. Without the millions of key workers across police, fire and rescue, local government and the armed forces, the NHS clinical front-line workforce simply wouldn’t cope during these incredibly difficult times.

“We all need to play our part, putting people and patients first. We’re delighted to be working closely with Me Learning to recognise the importance and value of training and skills development for our key workers, without whom, our lives as we know it wouldn’t be the same.”

Me Learning provides access to over 120 accredited digital courses developed with and for public sector organisations, accessible anywhere and on any device. The team is also prioritising the needs of public sector organisations and turning their existing classroom training into flexible digital and virtual learning, to support the response to the current emergency.

Nick Richards, CEO, Me Learning said:

“In these unprecedented times, our goal remains unchanged – to equip you and your teams with the skills you need to do be able to do your job to the best of your ability.

“We continue to work with organisations who are struggling to deliver training to those that need it most. If you need help, please do get in touch.”

The free COVID-19 course is available for existing Me Learning customers by contacting the team directly on 01273 091 301 or send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots.
