Cindy Cox

BA(hons), MSc

Associate Consultant

Cindy is at her best getting alongside others to enable growth and collaboration through focussed enquiry, deep listening, and sensitive challenge. Her approach to working with clients and stakeholders, as well as with individuals, groups, organisations and networks, is founded on curiosity and joint exploration. She has 20 years’ experience co-designing and facilitating development programmes and is an experienced researcher and consultant.

With a background in the creative and cultural sector, she has a commitment to celebrating diversity and leveraging difference. She actively seeks to work with a range of learning preferences and multiple intelligences to foster innovation and has considerable experience of self-managed and experiential learning and body-based practices (yoga, embodiment).

She’s an accredited Action Learning facilitator, Relational Dynamics coach and Human Systems Dynamics professional, and has supported managers, HR/OD specialists and senior teams across private and non-profit sectors. She’s worked across local government and statutory services such as health and education, to help leaders gain perspective and seize potential in challenging uncertain environments.

Previously director of a non-profit development agency and consultancy promoting creativity as a catalyst for change, Cindy has worked for many years partnering educational institutions (from early years to Higher Education), voluntary organisations and public sector bodies to support workforce development, stakeholder engagement and partnership working to improve outcomes. She has partnered with companies in retail, insurance, construction and utility industries to undertake innovative talent development programmes whilst paying attention to ethical issues and meaningfully connecting with their communities.

Cindy brings a rigorous and responsive approach underpinned by a keen critical perspective and mission clarity. A passionate believer that important work doesn’t have to be ‘hard work’, Cindy holds a certificate in Gestalt group work and gained an MSc in People and Organisation Development from Roffey Park/the University of Sussex in 2016. She joined the faculty in 2015, becoming Senior Consultant at Roffey Park, where she was Course Director for the Masters and Programme Director for the Organisation Development Practitioner Programme between 2015 and 2020.

During the three sessions of coaching with Toby Lindsay, I was able to better identify personal and professional goals and priorities. As a result of the coaching with Toby, I have improved my performance and realise more of my potential. It has been a pleasure to be coached by Toby and I can recommend him to anyone who is looking for professional coaching.

Toby is an expert facilitator and coach. He worked with the Trust's "Leading the Way" programme and facilitated Action Learning Sets for several small groups of senior managers and clinicians between February 2015 and June 2016. I have participated in Action Learning Sets previously (on other programmes) but I found Toby's approach and facilitation to be of greater value in securing a deeper level of self-awareness and also in securing honest and open dialogues between all present in the set. I would heartily recommend Toby to anyone.

Duane Passman
Acute Redevelopment Programme Director
West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust

I had three very insightful and productive coaching sessions with Toby. I was able to speak openly about current working issues at ease and felt at the end of the coaching session I had developed a plan to take forward. From the coaching experience, it has enabled me subconsciously to use similar coaching methods when speaking to others about their issues.
